Although our Wilderness Medical Systems first aid kits are comprehensive, they aren't much good if you don't know how to use what's in them. Even if you've had first aid training (maybe years ago), it's reassuring to have instructions for anything that you don't know or have forgotten about how to treat wilderness first aid emergencies.

Wilderness Medical Systems Flashcards are first aid instructions written for the panicked layman by our founder, Dr. Gilbert Preston, M.D. They are designed to provide a highly stressed layperson with a rapid reference, and clear instructions on the safe and effective care of the most common wilderness medical emergencies.

The waterproof, tear-resistant feature of these Flashcards makes them useful in all extremes of weather and location. It is unfortunate, but true, that most injuries happen when weather is foul and treatment often occurs in the rain or snow, in dusty, dirty conditions....not to mention the body fluids...well, you get the idea.

One necessary caveat: These instructions are not meant to take the place of adequate wilderness first-aid training (which we highly recommend) and trained wilderness medical personnel. They are there as a guide when out of reach of professional medical care.
