Wilderness Medical Kit Taken on Solo Atlantic Row
In preparation for my 3,500 mile unsupported trans-Atlantic rowing expedition, I approached Wilderness Medical with a tall order — design a kit to meet the emergency medical needs of a single adventurer 1,500 miles from land and weeks from the nearest hospital, and make it small enough to fit in an already-cramped, 19-foot row boat.
In no time, I had a customized Absorkee kit in a well-organized and compact bag that allowed me to find everything I needed even while seasick in 30-foot seas. I even used the kit as a pillow for many of the 87 nights I spent on the Atlantic.
