Who Uses A KILIMANJARO?
KILIMANJARO is the mega kit for very large teams and those who are in locations where rescue and timely evacuation are simply not an option. KILIMANJARO is the kit to have when circumstances demand that you be the best equipped medical “clinic” within practical reach. It is a favorite kit of military trauma doctors in Afghanistan and Pakistan, sports team physicians and those who provide emergency medical services on industrial sites.

KILIMANJARO is recommended only for those who need the most capability packed into one bag. KILIMANJARO comes standard-packed with 20# of supplies and has extensive room for personal emergency gear such as blankets, AED unit, bio bags, Rx medications, etc. This is not a kit for the average person, but one which can hold everything a doctor or trained layperson would need in the field in an organized and highly accessible manner. With the addition of Rx meds, you will be prepared to meet virtually any emergency the well-prepared party can be expected to safely and effectively manage in the field.

Why Is It So Huge?
KILIMANJARO has supplies generally sufficient to take care of a large number of people who will be gone a long time. Even close to home, if you need to have supplies for a lot of people, there is no getting around that the kit is going to be very big. Plenty of supplies, especially bandaging materials, will make any kit unwieldy for most people to deal with. KILIMANJARO is unique in that it keeps everything organized and easy to find. As one of our clients put it, “No more digging for supplies in front pockets, side pockets, tiny zipper pockets, or cavernous main compartments. No more scattering supplies all over the ground.“ KILIMANJARO puts a mountain of supplies, instruments and medications at your fingertips.

To date, I’ve seen a whopping 527 patients, not counting the mine victims. My other concern is that we’ll be heading back out into the field, and the night time temp hovers around 20, sometimes lower, with daytime temps in the mid to lower 30’s. So I may need to get a few extra accessories…
I use the Wilderness Medical Systems Kilimanjaro bag for our Paper Mill’s “jump bag”. This has been the best bag I’ve ever used for an industrial site. To have 3 compartments fully accessible, with zippers that allow them to be opened to lie flat is fantastic. No more digging for supplies in front pockets, side pockets, tiny zipper pockets, or cavernous main compartments. No more scattering supplies all over the ground. Two things I especially like are the rubberized shoulder strap which makes it comfortable to carry to the emergency site, and the see-through envelope on the back for reminders or supply lists. With the supplies required for our situation, our Kilimanjaro weighs 19 pounds.
As an emergency medical kit for an industrial site answering “man-down” calls, the supplies we use are different than those found in a medical bag for a trip somewhere else in the world. However, the bag is laid out so that, whatever the contents, will be able to be conveniently organized and safely transported.
Why buy from Wilderness Medical Systems
Professional Grade Supplies and Refillability
All Wilderness Medical Systems kits, including the KILIMANJARO, are packed with high quality, field-tested supplies that can be refilled. Cheap supplies are a detriment. Our refill service makes it easy to keep your kit up-to-date.
What’s The Deal With Organization?
It doesn’t matter what you have in your medical kit. If you can’t find it quickly, you might as well not have it.
This is why organization is vital! KILIMANJARO’s contents are organized into clear modules with high visibility labeling, individual content cards and a master directory.
Room For Personal Medications
If you travel away from home you need to take personal prescription medications (BH) with you, period. Certain situations require more than just what can be found in a standard kit. The KILIMANJARO has been designed to carry your personal meds so everything’s in one bag.
