Our PAMIR is the minimum emergency first aid kit that your team needs when they’re heading to any country that ends in “stan,” to remote parts of central Africa and Asia or even some dicey areas in the lower 48. We’ll help you understand the medical infrastructure (or lack, thereof) of your destination and create a plan for it. In many parts of the globe, that means your team needs to be as medically self-sufficient as possible. In addition to our custom designed first aid kits, such as PAMIR, we offer recommendations for prescription medications – for pain, infection, eye infection, etc. – and our current recommendations for reliable evacuation services (yes, not all are the same). A comprehensive plan is a serious investment in the well-being of your people and worth every penny.

Pamir Kit FAQ’s
- PAMIR is especially suited for destinations/locations more than 8 hours from definitive U.S. level medical care.
- PAMIR is configured for medium sized groups (approximately 4-8 people) who will be in the wilderness for up to 30 days.
- PAMIR is considered the bare-minimum kit for travel to truly remote locations such as Uganda, the Central African Republic and Mozambique, to name a few.
- There are supplies and instruments for Minor Aches and Pains; Bandaging; Blisters & Sprains; Burns, Rashes & Stings; CPR; Dental; Eye, Nose & Throat; OTC medications and Wounds as well as first aid instructions printed on waterproof paper.
- PAMIR is 16” x 9” x 8”and weighs approximately 10 1/2 pounds.
- Yes, PAMIR has a number of elastic loops which can accommodate several medication bottles.
- Since the PAMIR bag is cut with some give to it, our clients have been able to fit a number of their own things into the kit. Note that these extra items are not held down with elastic straps, but are loosely carried in one of the kit’s three main compartments. Here is a partial list of items that have been put into a PAMIR kit bag by our clients: wool blanket, rain poncho, digital thermometer, bio bags and emergency food.
What If We’ll Be On Our Own?
A comprehensive safety plan is a must. PAMIR is generally sufficient to take care of 6-12 people for about 14-30 days, although these estimates are just an educated guess. A good idea would be for each member of your team to have a MAYFLY kit that they carry on them which can be resupplied out of the PAMIR if they use an item or two. This way, the PAMIR can be used as a medical “depot”, left in a central spot and accessible by the whole party. Additionally, we highly recommend that your team have access to Rx medications and a proven evacuation plan. We can assist with both.

Just returned from Darfur, Sudan… I just wanted to let you know that we were thrilled with the Pamir kit. In particular, the design and internal organization of the kit made it very easy to tailor and repack for specific day-to-day needs.
Dr. Arthur Dover … helped me sort through any medications and preventatives I would need … His expertise was much appreciated after my visit with local public health people left me scratching my head. I purchased my first Wilderness Medical Systems kit 7 years ago and have been very pleased with the Dash. I then added a Pamir a year later and a new Pamir two months ago. The new Pamir bag is a great improvement over the previous bag, much more room to add my personal touches to it. The Dash goes everywhere I go and the Pamir is my base camp medical center for my hunting trips to Alaska, Africa, and the lower 48, as well all of my family camping trips. Very comforting to know that I have all of the supplies I could use at hand should they be needed. Fortunately, I have not needed any of the serious supplies from these well-stocked kits. Wilderness Medical Systems is a great company staffed by very knowledgeable people. They are associated with several experts that can offer hard to find, accurate advice and guidance. Dr. Arthur Dover is one individual that helped me sort through any medications and preventatives I would need on my 2009 trip to South Africa. His expertise was much appreciated after my visit with local public health people left me scratching my head. His comments on prescription medications are on the money and worth reading. Thank you for your wonderful products and great customer service.
I purchased my Wilderness Medical Systems kit to take on safari to South Africa. Not only was the kit the right size for my travel needs, it had everything I thought was necessary for remote emergency situations. I did actually have to use some of the products after cutting one of my fingers while on a hunt. Now my kit accompanies me while working and playing at all times. I always feel a bit more at ease knowing that my immediate medical needs can be handled in the field with Wilderness Medical Systems.
